Projects – New House, Wirksworth

Designed by a now retired architect, our construction team built this entirely new house using sophisticated methods.

Having heard about our high standard of work, our client chose Claremont Construction to build their dream home. Our team had worked closely with the architect on numerous prior projects, so there was no doubt that we would be able manage and complete this complex build exactly to specification.

Modern methods

Not only is this house aesthetically pleasing with its monocouche render, cedar façade and Staffordshire Blue roof tiles – it is also a modern and highly efficient building. The home’s efficiency is derived from a Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery (MVHR) system, air source heat pump (ASHP) and high levels of insulation working symbiotically to maximise thermal performance. The result of this design is that the house manages to possess the capabilities of a futuristic building whilst seamlessly integrating into the Wirksworth Conservation Area.

Building excellence

We are proud that this project was a finalist for Best Individual New Home at the LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards in 2015.

Words from the client

“We wanted a new house that was to be easy maintenance and highly efficient, which is what we got, rating highly on the pressure test due to the high quality of the build. Claremont were extremely well organised, ordering materials before they were needed and starting early in the morning, keen, to get on with the day’s work. We liked the advice given from years of experience in ways to proceed with the build. As it was a new house Claremont took care of all supplies, doors, and bathroom fittings. I could not recommend Claremont more highly. We will never move from this house it’s perfect.”
